GUIDANCE - GENERAL COUNSELING Group Counseling Program at St. Francis I: Short-term Groups for Freshmen and Transfer Students: these groups offer students the opportunity to meet new people, ask questions and find out more information about St. Francis’ rules, classes, and extracurricular activities. In addition, the Freshmen Group will also focus on study skills and test taking techniques. Ms. Sullivan and Mrs. Rupp are co-running these groups. II: Support Groups I & II: these groups are intended for students who are dealing with difficult situations in their families such as parents’ divorce, family conflict etc… They are also intended for students who would like to work on personal issues such as depression, anxiety, social isolation, etc… Ms. Rupp is running these groups, which meet once a week throughout the school year. III Grief Group: this group is intended for students who have experienced a significant loss in their lives (death of a relative or friend,…). Ms. Rupp is running this group, which also meets once a week throughout the school year. IV Eating Concerns Support Group: in this group students can share their attitudes, habits and any eating concerns they might have. The group is designed to focus on a healthier lifestyle and promote the social and emotional growth of students. If you are interested in learning more about any of these groups, please contact Mrs. Rupp at ext. 104. Group size is limited and registration is required.
