Great News: The Freshman Group is offered again this year . What’s the topic? The Group, run by counselors Angelika Rupp and Mary Kay Sullivan, offers you the opportunity to meet new people, learn more about St. Francis and ask questions in a small, non-threatening environment. An additional component to the Freshman Group is to help you with study skills, needs and test taking techniques – all stuff you will need throughout your high school career. If you want to find out more info or sign up, please see Mrs. Rupp or Ms. Sullivan in the Guidance and Counseling Department, ASAP! Space is limited and this will fill up fast.
Sign- ups for the Adventure Club Kayaking trip are in Ms. Fairhead’s room. The first 14 students to sign up will be given a ride in the Spartan Van. After that, students must find their own rides.
Attention all senior athletes: The Wendy’s High School Heisman 2008 application is now available. This year, we want to hear from all student athletes who work hard, are dedicated and have become role models for our school’s underclassmen. The link to the online application is available @ www.wendysheisman.com. Any eligible student can register and begin the application process. Eligibility for the application is limited exclusively to men and women entering their senior year of high school in the 2008-2009 academic year who have at least a “B” grade average and participate in at least one of the 32 sports officially sanctioned by the National Federation of State High Schools.
Attention all students : If you are still considering a schedule change, it is important that you finalize your schedule as soon as possible! Any student who needs to drop one course and add another should be enrolled in the new course no later than tomorrow to avoid falling behind in course work. Changes after Tuesday will only be allowed for critical academic reasons.
Attention all Senior boys: If you are interested in Male Cheerleading for the Powder Puff Game, please plan on attending an informational meeting in room 301 after school this Wednesday, August 27 th. See KRas or Ms. Edwards with any questions.
Attention NHS members: There is a mandatory meeting today at 2:35pm in the Spartan Theatre and a meeting tomorrow morning, August 26th at 7:10am in the Spartan Theatre. You must attend one of these meetings.
The Drama Club will have its first meeting of the year this coming Wednesday, August 27th in Room 109 after school. All are invited.
Attention Juniors and Seniors : Revolution Prep is offering an ACT prep course at St. Francis after school this fall on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning September 11th. A mailing on this course was sent to you in early August. Laura Ward, a rep from Revolution Prep will be available in the café during lunches today and tomorrow to answer questions regarding the course.
